30+ Years Hosting Programs
- 1992
Jose Mostafa begins his career in education abroad at Mendoza’s Cuyo National University, placing hundreds of students from the University of California, the University of Hawaii, and Lewis & Clark College with local families and supporting them throughout their exchange program experience.
- 2003
David English, an entrepreneur from Nashville, Tennessee, starts English & Associates to provide legal, tax and accounting services to foreign investors doing business in Mendoza.
- 2009
Our first program! As a service of English & Associates, David and Jose secure consulting projects at wineries for systems engineers from the University of Virginia.
- 2010
David and Jose begin hosting delegations from Sister Cities of Nashville and groups of lifelong learning students from the U.S.
- 2014
Cheers! After five years of success with our UVa programs, and the addition of new university partners, Study Abroad Mendoza, LLC is formed in the U.S. to professionalize our operations and separate them from English & Associates.
- 2015
We become a member of The Forum on Education Abroad, the Standards Development Organization for our field. The Forum’s Standards of Good Practice are the definitive means by which the quality of education abroad programs are judged and are the standards to which Study Abroad Mendoza adheres.
- 2020
The global pandemic shuts down all education abroad programs, and therefore our company, for two full years.
- 2024
We’re back! We celebrate 15 years of successful programs, grateful for having reestablished all of our university partnerships after the COVID crisis.
